Sunday School

Soteriology is the Study of the Doctrine of Salvation. For as long as Romans 8 has been around there has been the question, “What is the process/order of salvation?” This doctrine is referred to as the Ordo Salutis (Latin for “order of salvation”). Traditionally, there are a number of elements included in this order. They are (in no particular order) Justification, Sanctification, Regeneration, Election/Predestination, Glorification, Conversion (Faith/Repentance), and Atonement. Think through these words and truths and consider what might be the most logical order of these elements. Which comes first? Which comes last?

Sunday Worship

One of the first questions that children learn to ask is also one of the best questions that anyone can ask, the question “Why?” Asking this question reveals a desire to understand and is often the first step in obtaining that understanding. This is what Proverbs 8 is all about. It answers the question, “Why Wisdom?” In this chapter, as with previous chapters, Wisdom is personified and in verses 32-36 calls out and declares why she should be pursued, “ “And now, O sons, listen to me: blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it. Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors. For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord, but he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death.” Will you be one who finds life in the wisdom of Christ’s gospel?

This Sunday, we will be singing the song the choir sang this past Sunday,
"How Deep the Father's Love" as part of our worship.

We recommend listening to the recording (linked below) prior to Sunday so that you are familiar with the tune and can worship without the distraction of having to learn it in service.
