Sunday School

Last Sunday, we began our examination of the Ordo Salutis, or “the order of salvation.” We discussed God’s Decrees, Predestination, Election, Outward Call, and Effectual/Inward Call (also termed Regeneration or New Birth). This coming Sunday we will continue our look at the order of salvation: Saving Faith, Repentance, Justification, Adoption, Sanctification, and Glorification. Study up and come with lots of questions!

Sunday Worship

In Matthew 7:24-26, Jesus speaks of two houses.  The first one was built on a rock while the other one was built on the sand.  In a similar way, Proverbs 9 personifies Wisdom and Folly as two ladies calling the simple to come and eat of what they have to offer.  Yet, what is placed before them is radically different.  The consequences of entering one house over the other is life or death.  Solomon challenges us to think about the decisions we make in life from these perspectives.  The Gospel revealed in Proverbs 9, requires us to examine our lives and hearts.  Are we seeking after Lady Wisdom or Lady Folly?  Do we go to Jesus for our insight and instruction?  Are our lives built on the rock, Jesus, and the hope that He provides?  Or do we like the pleasures of this life that Lady Folly has to offer?
