Easter Sunday

Sunday Worship

This coming Sunday is Easter, the Sunday that most churches set aside to spend in special celebration and remembrance of the miracle of Christ’s resurrection from the dead. Can you imagine what it would have been like to be one of the disciples who had followed Christ during his earthly ministry? Matthew in his Gospel account describes the first Easter Sunday in chapter 28 and verses 1-10. I encourage you to read these verses as you prepare your heart and mind for Sunday worship this coming Lord’s Day. As you read, consider these questions:

  • Do I really believe that Jesus, the Son of God and Son of Man, was raised from the dead?

    1. Has Christ’s resurrection really changed my life?

    2. Do I consider it a priority to go and tell others about the risen Christ?

Sunday School

Over the course of the past many Sunday mornings, we have been considering the doctrine of salvation. This coming Sunday will be our final lesson in this particular area of doctrine as we discuss the meaning and significance of Christ’s resurrection from the dead. In the Apostles’ Creed we have these words, “The third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick [living] and the dead.” Do you know what these words mean? Do you know what they mean for you, the believer? Join us at 945AM as we consider the central importance of Christ’s resurrection!
